Do it like Cleopatra! The glorious mud from Dead Sea

I remember the days when I was hanging out with my girl friends from the States, they always talked about this Dead Sea Skincare thing, as if it is some sort of skincare miracles! Earlier this week, I have tried it out myself, and you know what? Its does work the magic! No wonder this is one of the most commonly known beauty routine for Cleopatra herself. This week I am going to dig deep into the myth of it all.

The Dead Sea

It is formed over millions of years at the lowest point on earth, over 1000 feet below sea level. This unique geographical phenomenon is often credited as one of the first centre of skin care the world has discovered. Fast forward to today, this mineral-rich sea is in the middle of the African Fault, a world-renowned natural health spa and a prime spot for the skin-care industry, some premium cosmetic company will go source the raw material there with it’s extremely high content of salt, minerals, and natural elements that have been known for thousands of years for their therapeutic and healing powers. Thanks Cleo!

All those minerals

The Dead Sea water contains 32% salts compared to the 3% salt in normal sea water, with higher concentration of minerals such as magnesium, calcium, bromide and potassium. It is also commonly known that with these precious minerals it will nourish the skin, relax the nerves, ease rheumatic discomfort and activate the circulatory system.

The Black Mud

The black mud is a homogeneous mixture of Dead Sea minerals, organic elements retrieved from the shoreline of the Dead Sea. With the black mud mask that I have tried which consists of rubbing a wetted soap to the face prior applying the actually mud mask. Upon the first try, its smelled organic and fresh with a light warm sensation which I believe opens up my pores and cleans it. After a relaxing 15 minutes, I found myself with amazingly smooth, radian skin! Not only it felted clean it also deeply hydrated. On the other hand, I have also tried a dead sea salt exfoliate, which surprise me a lot too! After some gentle rubbing with these salt and a hot bath, my body has turned irresistibly smooth and soft. This is definitely one of the go to routine when you cant wait until your weekend facial!

Love,
Amber
