Hi guys, how have you been? I hope you all had a lovely time at Halloween and manage to recovered and got those glitter off! While we are soon approaching winter with temperature dropping and streets of Hong Kong getting slightly more breezy. What better place to go after dinner than checking out the latest film. This coming November has an exciting range of movies coming to Hong Kong. Weather you documentary connoisseurs or fantasy geek like myself, these films are surely nothing to disappoint!

At Eternity’s Gate

If anyone had read any art history or cultural study material, you should be quite familiar with the term Van Gogh effect but what happened before his death? This biographic film depict the life of the avant grade master in the making in Arles, south of France, where his paintings grew brighter in colour as he developed a style that became fully realised. During this period he broadened his subject matter to include series of olive trees, wheat fields and sunflowers.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

I am not sure about what you think about the last one but I thought it was quite intriguing, and I don’t think we should compare it to Rowling’s wizard counterpart. This movie leads by the extremely talented and handsome actor Eddie Redmayne featuring the adventures of magizoologist Newt Scamander from no order than J.K Rowling’s Wizarding World! Call me a geek, but I do like all things Rowling has written! And yes I have the Harry Potter scarf!

Bohemian Rhapsody

Wether you are Freddie’s super fan or a queer cultural activist. The Bohemian Rhapsody is a 2018 biographical film about the British rock band Queen, focusing on lead singer Freddie Mercury’s life and leading up to Queen’s Live Aid performance at Wembley Stadium in 1985. Even though this movies might has been receiving mixed reviews internationally, but I guess this is down to us the audience to do our own judge!

Let those film rolling this November!
