Getting to Grips with Hand Care
Your hands work hard for you all year long, so it’s important you treat them to some regular TLC. Here’s what you need to know about keeping your hands in tip-top condition.
Yes, you already wash your hands often – but are you doing it properly? Extreme water temperatures can damage the skin, so be sure to wash your hands in lukewarm water. Don’t forget to use some moisturising hand soap; antibacterial or dish soap can wreak havoc on your skin, too.
Dry, scaly hands aren’t a good look. Exfoliate your hands with a gentle scrub once or twice a week to get rid of any dead skin You can buy different types of hand scrubs, or you can even make it at home using sugar, olive oil and a bit of lime.
Once you’ve scrubbed up, it’s important to follow up with a good hand moisturiser to keep your hands soft and hydrated. Don’t forget to add some cuticle oil into your routine to look after your nails.

You can only do so much for your hands on the outside, so in order to keep them looking good you need to make sure you’re looking after them from the inside, too. Strong, healthy nails like plenty of proteins and vitamins, so make sure you’re eating a good diet (time to cut out the processed foods) and take supplements that have biotin, Vitamin B and Vitamin E.
Get a mani
We’re not saying you have to wear nail polish all the time. But if you want your hands to look good, it’s crucial to have clean, well-groomed nails. You can do this at home by making sure your nails are always trimmed and filed, and then cleaned with a nail brush. Or, you could treat yourself with a full manicure.
