I’M NO BEAUTY QUEEN, I’M JUST BEAUTIFUL ME

MindBeauty Girls, take care and love yourself well and deep…

At the beginning of this beautiful season, I love to share with you a simple tutorial to wiggle your fingers and heart, showing how you can enjoy gorgeous flowers in your home all year long.  NO watering or maintenance required! What you need is a paintbrush, few pieces of papers, and a watercolour palette.

What do you need?

  • Watercolour paint (try to pick it up from HK$12 shop! What you need is just RED and WHITE)
  • Paintbrush
  • Crepe paper
  • Tissue papers in light (pick one colour from yellow, brown, white…  for stem)
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun & hot glue

Step 1 – Make Pedals

Start by ripping paper into a petal shape by hand, remember that you don’t have to be “exactly” accurate!!

The fun part of this craft is being “lose”, just try to give each petal a natural look. Don’t worry about being perfect… the word “Handmade” covered all the roughness, rugged looks and you will surprise to see how these eventually would just add to the beauty of nature and expressing your loves to mom.

Step 2 – Paint Pedals

Next is picking up your paintbrush, wet your pedal with clear water first before applying little watercolour onto each petal. You will see how amazing the colours spreading through the clear water.

What’s next? Let the petals dry.

Step 3 – Make flowers centre

Curl up the tissue paper, take a pair of scissors and make lots of long straight cuts on it.

Step 4 – Assembling

Gather al the pedals, start from the flower centres, secure the torn edges with a bit of hot glue or tape. Continue adding petals, staggering until your flower looks full.
